What we collect
- When you create an account, we store your name, email address, a password hash, and sign-in session information. Session information includes device/browser information and network addresses used for security.
- We store your learning preferences, saved topics, lesson activity, answers, completion and review history, and content reports. Guest activity is associated with a generated identifier. Signing in can merge guest progress into your account.
- Product events, such as viewed tabs, lesson activity, and search result counts, help us understand how Generalist works. These events use a generated user or guest identifier. Search analytics record query length and result counts, not the words you search for.
- If you contact support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send.
How we use it
Account and learning data let us provide Generalist, sync your progress, recommend topics, and schedule reviews. We process this data to provide the service you request. We use limited technical and product events for our legitimate interests in securing, maintaining, and improving the service. We use support messages to answer you and resolve problems.
Reminder permissions are optional and controlled in your device settings. You can turn reminders off in Generalist. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising. Version 1.0 does not offer paid subscriptions.
Who receives it
Our hosting, network, and email providers process information needed to operate the service. These include OVH for hosting, Cloudflare for website delivery and security, and Google for support email. Authorized staff can access data when needed to operate Generalist or resolve a support request. We may also disclose information when required by law.
Providers may process data outside your country. Where European data protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we rely on applicable adequacy decisions or contractual safeguards. You can contact us for details.
Storage and deletion
We retain account and learning data while your account is active. Choose Delete my account in Account & settings to remove your account details and learning history from our active database. Signing out does not delete your account. Guest data uses a generated identifier; contact support if you need help with guest-data deletion.
Support correspondence, security logs, and backup copies may remain for the time needed to resolve requests, protect the service, recover from failures, or meet legal obligations. We do not use retained backup copies for active personalization.
Your choices and rights
You can change learning preferences and reminder settings in the app. You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a portable copy of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests, by emailing info@adeptaoperations.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You can also complain to your local data protection authority, including Bulgaria's Commission for Personal Data Protection.
Children
Generalist is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so we can investigate and remove it where appropriate.
